Ordinary gypsum plaster board, also known as drywall or gypsum board, is a common building material used for interior walls and ceilings. It is made up of a core of gypsum plaster that is sandwiched between two layers of paper or fiberglass matting.
The gypsum core provides the board with its fire-resistant and sound-proofing properties, while the paper or fiberglass layers serve to strengthen the board and provide a smooth surface for finishing.
Gypsum plaster board is relatively lightweight and easy to install, making it a popular choice for both DIY home projects and large-scale construction. It can be cut to size and shape using a variety of tools and can be installed using screws or nails to attach it to wood or metal framing.
Once installed, the board can be finished with a variety of materials, including paint, wallpaper, or textured coatings. Ordinary gypsum plaster board is available in a range of thicknesses and sizes to suit different applications.
