Application of Fire Rated Gypsum Board

• Residential buildings

Installing gypsum board

1. Preparation: Firstly, identify the area to be installed and clean the surface of the wall or ceiling to ensure it is smooth, clean, and free from any obstacles.
2. Measurement and cutting: Accurately measure the dimensions of the area to be covered using measuring tools, then cut the fire-resistant gypsum board to the appropriate size using cutting tools such as a hand saw or electric saw.
3. Positioning and installing the framework: If necessary, install metal or wooden frames to support the fire-resistant gypsum board. Fix the frame to the wall or ceiling as required, ensuring it is level and vertical.
4. Installing fire-resistant gypsum board: Place the cut fire-resistant gypsum board on the frame and secure it to the frame using specialized screws or nails. Ensure that the seams between the boards are as flush as possible, and the surface of the boards is smooth.
5. Treating seams and edges: Fill the seams between the boards with fire-resistant gypsum board-specific filler, and use sandpaper to smooth the edges of the boards.
6. Surface treatment: Depending on requirements, primer or paint can be applied to the surface of the fire-resistant gypsum board to enhance its waterproofing and decorative properties.
